Many Honda CX monoshock conversions are made from non-compliant shock absorbers, from other motorcycles. Shock absorbers with a spring that is too soft, not suitable for CX models, which makes their use dangerous. YSS has therefore developed a monoshock specific to the CX400 and CX500: the TCXF-MZ-366-280-TRL .
Honda CX models are not designed as single shock absorber motorcycles. It is therefore imperative, to ride in perfect safety , to only mount a model made exclusively for them. The YSS kit is simple, strong and safe. The forces are distributed at the strongest points of the swingarm.
The TCXF-MZ-366-280-TRL mono shock absorber kit is developed by Suspension-Store, official distributor and custom shop for YSS suspension. This kit is intended for the CX400 and CX500 models of the Honda brand.
The base plate and top bracket must be welded to the rear swingarm and frame . It is recommended to have a professional do the welding. The placement of the base plate is the exact shape of where it needs to be welded.
The shock absorber has a length of 280 mm . By varying the location of the top mount, you can choose your own ride height. However, it is recommended to stay close to the standard geometry.

Kit contents
- 1 YSS MZ366-TRL Topline shock absorber;
- Base plate: 4 mm thick steel. It sits directly on top of the rear swingarm. 4 mm thick steel bracket, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welded; 22 mm inner width; 10 mm bolts;
- Top mounting: 4mm thick steel bracket; 22mm inner width; 10mm bolts;
- 2 x M10 high strength stainless steel flange bolts;
- 2 x M10 high strength stainless steel flange nuts.
For information ( German and Swiss customers): This kit does not have an ABE. When you mount it on your motorcycle, you must make your TÜV as "einzeleintrag". The safety and function of the kit and the shock absorber are no problem, they are developed specifically for the CX 400-500 models.
