The Wunderlich ULTIMATE engine guard for the BMW R 1300 GS is a premium engine guard designed to offer maximum safety. This robust and lightweight aluminum engine guard effectively protects the engine, oil pan, and exhaust manifolds from impacts and projectiles. With its stylish and functional design, it optimizes side protection, surpassing the original model thanks to its wider design.
Its streamlined shape minimizes snag points while ensuring maximum ground clearance and lean, ideal for off-road riding. The Ultimate skid plate also features ventilation openings to prevent engine overheating, while allowing water and mud to drain freely after river crossings. In addition, the angled deflector plates reduce the risk of flying stones and other debris.

Ultimate Engine Guard: Maximum protection against debris and splashes
The angled deflector plates effectively deflect flying stones or other debris kicked up by the front wheel. They significantly reduce the risk of damage to the manifolds and engine. Another benefit of this engine guard is that it channels sudden splashes downward. This minimizes thermal stress on the engine block, manifolds, and gaskets, especially when the engine is hot.
The complex shape and geometry of this part are the result of rigorous optimization of material thickness and weight, while maintaining high structural rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a durable, weight- and shape-optimized engine guard that fits organically with the engine, perfectly embodying the principle of "form follows function." The screws are recessed , eliminating any catching surface and reinforcing the Edge Adventure design.
This high-quality engine guard is securely attached to the motorcycle's original mounting points. Vibrations are effectively absorbed. True to Wunderlich's approach, special attention has been paid to easy access for maintenance operations: a specific opening allows, for example, the engine oil to be drained without having to remove the guard. Made of aluminum, the engine guard is corrosion-resistant and features a stylish black coating.
