Fuel's Greasy Selvedge Denim Pants are a unique product. The secret lies in the materials used. We've used denim blended with aramid fibers to achieve a lightweight, comfortable fit and an AA safety rating.
Prior to the 1950s, most fabrics, including denim, were made on looms using the shuttle technique. They produced narrow widths of thick fabric whose edges were identifiable by their edging .
The manufacture of selvedge pants is longer and requires specific equipment. The difference with non-selvedge denim is the finishing of the edges: sharper and reinforced, they provide much better resistance and unparalleled longevity.
Fuel Motorcycles uses modern and vintage sewing machines combining the proven techniques of yesteryear with the functionality and safety of today's needs. Some of these machines are 100 years old and have very strong seams that give Fuel items exceptional longevity .
The hip and knee protectors come from Polyanswer, a leading Portuguese manufacturer. Polyanswer is a unique startup that grew from the research center of the University of Porto.
